FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What grades do you work with?
A: We work with students in PreKindergarten through 7th grade.

Q: Where do tutorials take place?
A: Tutorials can be held at our center in Wellington or we can send a tutor to your home/off-site location. We are also pros at teaching virtually!

Q: What makes you different from other tutoring centers?
A: We are intentionally small; we get to know each student and family so that we can create a program that is specific to each students’ needs. We hire only certified teachers and those who have worked with children for many years.

Q: How do you cater to the needs of seasonal equestrians?
A: We know that taking your young student out of the classroom temporarily can be overwhelming and daunting. Our goal is to make the transition back and forth between the child’s home school and Florida as seamless as possible, with little to no burden on your or your child’s school. We can communicate directly with the school weekly so that our certified and highly-qualified teachers can keep your student up-to-date with his/her assignments and tests.

Q: How will the work get back to the teacher and the school?
A: We take care of all the assignment transactions so that you don’t need to worry about it!

Q: Do I need to keep my child registered in school?
A: Yes. Open Minds Academy is a tutoring center, not an accredited school. Therefore, your child will either need to be a registered homeschooler with your county or enrolled in an accredited school.

Q: Do you offer full-time options?
A: Yes! Our homeschooled students have the option to follow their own curriculum, or have our highly-qualified certified teachers come up with one that will meet their needs.
